Frequently asked questions
- Why does board load appear on an investor directory?
- Because it predicts availability better than fund size. 89 of these people sit on five or more boards, which means the practical answer to a new seed investment is usually no regardless of what the thesis page says. If you are raising, the 118 with two or fewer boards have capacity to actually engage.
- What does "entry point" mean and why not just use stage labels?
- Stage labels drifted — a 2026 seed round can mean anything from a deck to $4M ARR. Entry point states the revenue at which a partner has historically written their first cheque, which is the number that actually determines whether your raise is fundable by them today.
- Have SaaS multiples changed who is investing?
- Yes, at the top of the range. The $15M+ cheque bucket is the thinnest here at 46, while early activity held — 44% still enter below $1M ARR. The read is that early B2B software remains fundable and growth rounds have repriced, which inverts the pattern most founders learned in 2021.
- Are these the same people as the AI investors list?
- There is overlap and it is deliberate — most AI application companies are SaaS companies. The distinction is what they underwrite: a SaaS investor prices retention and payback, an AI investor is often underwriting a technical bet before revenue exists. Cross-reference the two directories if your company is genuinely both.
- Why track individuals rather than firms?
- Because within a single fund one partner will lead a $2M seed and another will only look at $15M growth rounds. A firm-level list sends your intro to whoever answers first, which is why so many warm intros go nowhere.
- How do I read the entry point against my own numbers honestly?
- Take your trailing three months of ARR, not your best month annualised. Investors here index on the former and every founder pitches the latter, which is the single most common reason a first meeting does not convert into a second.
